Acceptable Use Policy

The EASD Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), Policy 815: Use of the Internet and District's Network, outlines the rules and expectations for use of District-provided devices and access to the EASD network. This Policy supports our commitment to providing a secure and productive digital environment, as well as promoting responsible and safe digital citizenship for all of our users.

The Easton Area School District requires that the "Parent/Student Permission Form for Use of the Internet" be completed for all students who are enrolled in the district. On this form, parents will assign permission and sign off on the following:

  • discussing with child(ren) the appropriate use of the Internet while in school and on District devices, according to the Policy 815: Use of the Internet and District's Network
  • publishing of student projects
  • publishing of student photographs or videos
  • participating in teacher directed communication using the Internet

This form applies to all students in grades K-12 and is to be completed for each student upon enrollment to EASD and one time each at the elementary level, middle school level, and high school level. This can be done online during the new student registration process and when completing the yearly PowerSchool Enrollment update form each summer. To fill out on paper, please download the Parent/Student Permission Form (PDF), available in both English and Spanish.

Our district approved list of apps and websites is updated frequently with online digital resources approved for use with our students. Each app, website, and extension is reviewed and vetted to ensure that it is safe for our students and meets the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
