21st Century Learning
The Easton Area School District is using innovative approaches to teaching and learning with digital technologies. Students in grades K-12 are using digital programs, including G Suite for Education, and other cloud technologies to prepare them for the digital world in which they live. Teachers are personalizing education with digital resources such as ClassLink, Schoology, SeeSaw, and more. 21st Century Learning PlanThe 21st Century Learning Plan (PDF) has been created as part of our commitment to personalized digital learning in grades K-12 in the Easton Area School District. To prepare our students to be successful in their careers, in college, and as productive citizens, we need to ensure that our students have access to the digital resources they need to succeed. Cost has always been a factor in our decisions; however, new technologies offer new opportunities, and with a 21st Century Learning Plan in place, we hope to provide actionable recommendations that will support our K-12 schools and keep digital learning devices in the hands of our students. With a focus on moving toward more personalized learning, the District's 21st Century Learning Plan, which started over a decade ago, sought to increase the number of devices in our district so that technology could be more readily available to all students. Having achieved our goal of putting a device in the hands of each student in grades K-12, our focus now changes to what we can do to improve student learning and student learner agency. A key component of this initiative is an investment into the professional development of our staff, as well as in the devices, apps, and programs provided for them. Other priorities include: improved app vetting, AI exploration, and home Internet access for all students.
