Attendance

Contact your child’s school within 72 hours of your child’s return to school to prevent the absence from being marked as illegal. (choose one option below)

• Use the Safe Arrival School Messenger system to indicate the reason for the absence
• Email the school’s attendance administrative professional (ask the school for the email address)
• Call 1-855-816-2679 to use the School Messenger Phone System to report the absence.
• Send in a handwritten note/doctor’s note
• Leave a phone message on the school’s attendance line. This line may connect you to the School Messenger Phone System.

If your child is on Doctor Note only, a doctor’s note will be needed in order for the absence to be marked as excused.

If your child is absent for more than a day, reach out to your child’s teacher to find out what they missed.

If your child is absent for more than three days in a row, a doctor note will be needed.

If necessary, communicate with the school nurse about updated health information for your child.
