Parents/guardians must provide either the child’s state birth certificate or another proof of birth and documentation of the child’s completed basic immunizations. Pennsylvania School Code mandates that NO child will be allowed to enter school without the following basic immunizations: diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella (German measles), varivax, and hepatitis B. A second MMR is also required.
Parents/guardians must also present acceptable proofs of residence as part of the process. Failure to do so will result in a delay of the registration process. The following are examples of acceptable proofs:
- A mortgage or lease, along with two of the following: current utility bill, moving permit, car registration or car insurance, tax statements, check stubs from wages, public assistance or social security, current credit card statement. Should only a lease or mortgage be available at registration, two other proofs must be presented to the school within thirty (30) days.
Custody papers and affidavits of support/residency, if applicable, should also be presented.
Children entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st to enroll.
It is the policy of the Board of Education to provide a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) to each handicapped student within its jurisdiction, regardless of the nature or severity of the handicap. Parents/guardians who feel a child is in need of special programming or accommodations may request an evaluation through any school guidance office. It is the intent of the District to ensure that students who are handicapped within the definition of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or Chapter 14 are identified, evaluated, and provided with appropriate educational services.
