EASD Library Mission Statement:

The mission of the school library program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information; students are empowered to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

To ensure this mission is accomplished, our libraries:

• Are safe and welcoming places
• Provide materials in all formats to meet the teaching and learning needs of the school curriculum and reflect the diversity of our students.
• Instruct students and staff on how to access, evaluate, and apply information using a variety of print and electronic formats.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop cross- curricular learning experiences that promote student achievement
• Use current technological tools to promote critical thinking, creativity, and information literacy
