Title I
|
Title I is a federal program that provides funds to school districts and schools with children who are disadvantaged to support a variety of services. Its overall purpose is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and assessments. Funding contains provisions for ensuring that children who are disadvantaged enrolled in private schools also benefit from the academic enrichment services funded with Title I. Details regarding the current year's Title I programming are shared in the annual Title I Right to Know Letter (PDF) to families. School-wide ProgramHigh-poverty schools (those with 40 percent or more students from low-income families) are eligible to adopt school-wide programs to raise the achievement of low-achieving students by improving instruction throughout the entire school, thus using Title I funds to serve all children. For the 2025-2026 school year, three elementary Schools (Cheston, March, and Paxinosa), and the Easton Area Middle School provide Title I school-wide programming.
