Easton Area School District | 610.250.2400
The Easton Area School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to students’ physical well-being, growth, development and readiness to learn. The School Board is committed to providing a school environment that promotes student wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that have been shown to improve student achievement.
Habits and practices related to physical activity, eating, and tobacco use are influenced by the entire school environment. That’s why the School Health Index has eight different modules, which correspond to the eight components of a coordinated school health program, shown here. Click to view larger image.
The health and wellness of our children is a national priority. In the Easton Area School District, we address our students’ health and wellness with a comprehensive approach that includes health screenings, physical activity programs, nutrition and education. EASD schools support families’ efforts regarding nutrition and activity in various ways: promoting energy balance leads to overall student well-being.

First, Second, Seventh and Eight Graders and their families are learning the benefits of nutrition and physical activity through The Weller Center’s “Kids In Motion” program. This is being accomplished via the collaborative efforts of Weller Center Health Educators, school nurses, and building principals: Curricular presentations, after-school programs, and family nights all play a part in improving health literacy in our community!
