Guiding our Students ...
Our 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 1 high school in Easton are equipped with multiple mobile carts of laptop computers complete with all software that motivates children to love to learn and grow. In addition, all schools have classroom computers and/or technology classrooms, laser printers, digital and video cameras, projectors, and other technology necessary for integration and learning. In the past two year, the Easton Area High School was chosen as an early starter for the Pennsylvania Classrooms for the Future grant. This allowed 43 additional classrooms to be fitted with Polyvision boards, projectors, speakers, digital cameras, digital video cameras, and laptop carts. At the Easton Area Academy - Alternative Learning Center, fifth through twelfth grade students are excelling through their experience with a true “One to One” initiative - one student, one laptop. Students in this school are taking ownership for their work and becoming responsible individuals through the trust and respect they received when the district provided them with access to their own laptop. The initiative has been a tremendous success, and Easton is looking forward to expanding this success throughout other district schools in the coming years.
Taking the Next Step ...
The integration of technology into our schools, our curriculum, and the lives of our staff and students in Easton has been a smooth, gradual process over the course of the past few years. It was made possible by the support of our school board, administration, and community. Easton is blessed with a well-trained and energetic technology staff that is always ready to take things to the next level and do what is best for the future of our students. We hope to continue changing our schools for the better as the world changes around us. Please explore this website to learn more about why a One to One initiative is necessary and how we are preparing our students for this initiative currently through integration in the classroom.
