Enrichment Integration at Palmer Elementary
The Enrichment and Gifted Support Program currently offers the following services for Palmer students:
•Gifted Support Seminars On Mondays (1st & 2nd graders), Tuesdays (4th graders) and Friday afternoons (3rd graders) those students who need active "GIEPs" (see district web page for further information about Chapter 16 requirements and guidelines) are scheduled for their Gifted Support Seminar, which includes a variety of challenges.
•Schoolwide Enrichment Palmer is committed to challenge for all students and has enriching and challenging activities in all classrooms. As scheduling allows, Dr. Finger is available for resource planning or to coordinate special activities. We offer Math Acceleration for 4th graders (as appropriate depending on pretesting results), a French Club based in Mrs. Laudenslager’s class on Mondays from 12:15 to 12:45, and a chance for interested 4th graders to play the Stock Market Game. We also offer the Reading Olympics program through the Library.
•Odyssey of the Mind Palmer is proud to offer the very exciting and challenging OM program. Teams are working on problems for the March 7th SE PA Competition at Easton Area Middle School.
•Science Fair 4th and 3rd (and very interested 2nd grade) students are encouraged to do a project for the Science Fair Night, which this year will be sponsored by our wonderful PTA Committee.
•Summer Program For each of the past eleven summers, several Palmer students have participated in our Summer Enrichment Program, sponsored jointly by the Gifted Services Department of the EASD and Lafayette College. This past summer’s program was “The Wonderful World of Science.”
