Lockdown & Evacuation at EAHS

Posted: September 11, 2013

PRESS RELEASE

On Tuesday, September 11, students at the Easton Area High School experienced a lockdown followed by an evacuation at 10:50 a.m. The evacuation ended at 11:08 a.m. with students returning to the building. The evacuation was a result of a message that was scribbled on a lavatory wall. Following the evacuation, district administrators met to discuss the potential responses to address such interruptions in the instructional schedule. This means that time could be taken from scheduled vacations or tacked on to the end of the school year. Anyone found guilty of causing such interruptions will be expelled from the high school. The adults are also considering the closure of certain lavatories throughout the building. Additional security personnel may also be utilized during the school day. Students at the high school with any knowledge of anyone who may have perpetrated these events for evacuation are encouraged to present this information to a responsible adult as soon as possible.

Respectfully,

John F. Reinhart
Interim Superintendent
