3rd Grade Steven Kellogg Movies
When learning about the research model, the Big6, students created movies based on Steven Kellogg’s book, Can I Keep Him? 3rd grade students used World Book for Kids to locate information on specific animals. After completing their research, they need to write a dialogue to convince me, Miss Kordek, why I should allow them to keep the animal as a library pet using at least three facts. They then also had to write why I would say no. The students were very creative in their response and was enjoyable helping them create their dialogue and recording their voices.

2nd PA Reader Choice Student Posters
Second grade students over the course of six book club meetings made posters based on a PA Reader’s Choice book they read. Each group was assigned a book which they read and identified literary elements. Each group member then took a picture of a page in the book they liked the most which they used on their posters. Working together with the typed literary elements and pictures they developed these creative posters 1st and 2nd graders used to help them vote on their favorite book.
