Reading Olympics is a reading program for the 3rd and 4th grade. The goal of the Reading Olympics is to increase students' reading for enjoyment and increase reading skills. Students collaborate with their teammates to read forty to fifty books that have been pre-selected. The students read the books and write five questions for every book they read which then will be used during the competition. The Olympics are primarily a celebration of reading rather than a contest. All participants are awarded a certificate. At the bottom of this page you can find additional information in the Parent Letter.
2009-2010:
This year our event will be held at Shawnee Elementary on May 12, 2010 from 9:30-10:50. Students will be bused to and from the event.
2008-2009:
We had 22 students participated in the Reading Olympics that was held at Tracy Elementary School on May 15, 2009. The students did an excellent job and represented F.A. March with FAME behavior. Mrs. Nelson and I were very proud of our students and hope they will continue in the program at next year in our own building as well as at the middle school.
