Horton Hears a Who (4th Grade)
One of the units for fourth grade revolves around Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hears a Who. During the unit students hear the story Horton Hears a Who, as well as listen to a selection of music from Broadway’s production Seussical. To further students understanding of how books can be adapted, during a series of recesses students had the option to come and view the movie Horton Hears a Who
PA Readers Choice
2nd grade students made posters of the a selection of the PA Reader Choice books. These are books that are chosen by professionals but the book that is the best is chosen solely by students. The students read the books and then wrote the important literary elements. Combining these elements with pictures they made a poster to help other students choose a book to vote for.

Tale of Despereaux (4th Grade)
4th grade students came to library during recess to discuss the similarities and
differences between The Tale of Despereaux by Katie DiCamill0 to the movie
released by Dec 2008. In order for students to participate they need to either read
the book and/or see the movie. We had about 20 students attended and had a good
discussion about what the students observed with some guiding questions to direct
discussion.
