What is the Learning
Support Classroom?
Students who are
in need of this academic assistance and who are found elligible
are placed in the learning support classroom. Elligibility for
learning support is determined by the Instructional Support Team
and the results of a multidisciplinary evaluation. There
are many benefits to this educational environment. Students
in this setting receive specially designed instruction and more
individual attention. Many interventions and instructional
techniques are put into place to enable all the students in
this setting to succeed.
How many students are
in the Learning Support Classroom?
The current class
size in the Learning Support Classroom is six students. The
students are all from different grade levels. The current
class consists of students in all grade levels.
What academic areas
are taught in the Learning Support Classroom?
Students who attend
this class receive academic instruction in Reading, Mathematics,
and Language Arts.
How much time does a
student devote to the Learning Support Classroom?
Students attend this
classroom in the morning. They are mainstreamed or integrated
into the regular classroom setting for Social Studies, Science,
and all other specials, such as, physical education, art, music,
and library.
How many teachers are
in the Learning Support Classroom?
The classroom has one
Special Education Teacher who is assisted by paraprofessionals.
