Position Descriptions
PRESIDENT
This person shall preside at all meetings of the PTA and shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees. To be nominated, this person must have previously served on the Executive Board in another capacity for one term.
FIRST VICE PRESIDENT
This person shall be in charge of Legislation, March School Directory, Membership, Monthly Newsletter and Publicity.
SECOND VICE PRESIDENT
This person shall be in charge of community connections, hospitality, Family Fun Night, March Fest and Room Parents/Parent Involvement.
TREASURER
This person shall have custody of all funds, keep accurate account of receipts and expenditures, pay bills, give financial reports at meetings, and help prepare the financial budget.
RECORDING SECRETARY
This person shall record the minutes of all meetings of the PTA and maintain the current copy of the bylaws
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY
This person shall handle all correspondence for the PTA and the Executive Board, maintain the PTA bulletin board, and organize the presentation of books to the school library for staff members' recognition of life cycle events.
COUNCIL DELEGATES
PTA Council consists of the EASD’s six elementary schools, middle, intermediate and high school. Delegates attend Council meetings to exchange ideas, discuss concerns, organize events and report them to our PTA.
HOSPITALITY
Coordinates refreshments for Kindergarten Orientation, Open House, Teacher's Luncheon, and other PTA events as requested.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT COORDINATOR
Obtains Room Parents for each class, inform them of their responsibilities, coordinate events, provide ideas for activities, and assist when necessary. Recruits volunteers for events and for classroom teachers.
ASSEMBLIES
This committee selects enriching in-school assemblies or workshops for students, coordinating the schedule and theme through the Principal.
TEACHER LIAISON
Chosen by March School principal to act as liaisons between the PTA, the Teachers, and the School. Attends faculty and PTA meetings, coordinates the spending of the Teachers' Educational Supplement Fund, and notifies the PTA Corresponding Secretary of the Life Cycle events of staff.
WAYS & MEANS
Responsibilities include coordinating the fundraising events and activitIes that support the PTA budget. The PTA budget supports field trips, in school assembly programs, small teacher grants, educational resources, and more. (Volunteers are needed throughout the entire school year to help with order checking and distribution.)
