Inclement
Weather Building Closed
When the district is closed, the secretarial staff should treat this as a
non-working day. On such days, no one will be charged with a vacation day
nor will they lose pay. Individuals will not be granted comp time if they
report when the buildings are closed.
Delayed Starts
In the case of a delayed start, all buildings and offices will open one or
two hours later than normal. If there is a delay called, staff members and
administrators are to arrive no later than the one or two hours after their
normal starting time. Para-Professional employees may make up hours lost,
preferably during the pay period of the delayed start.
Early
Dismissal
Should weather conditions be such that students are dismissed early, the
teaching staff shall be allowed to leave their work site no later than one-half
hour after the dismissal of students. As per contract, a proportionate number
of teachers chosen on a rotating basis can be requested to stay at school
with remaining children. Administrators and secretaries may not leave their
work site until they receive specific permission from Central Administration.
Those
staff members that are absent on an early dismissal day as a
result of vacation (V) sickness (S), emergency (E), excused by
Superintendent (X), absent without pay (A) or personal day (P),
are to be charged with a full day of absence This is due to the
fact that this is considered as a full day of school for state
reimbursement purposes.
Special
Note: All school activities (Athletics, Musical Programs,
PTA, Recreation, etc.,) will be canceled on early dismissal
days!
Substitute
teachers that are filling in for an employee that is absent for
a full day are to be given credit for a full day of service.
Para-Professionals (hourly employees) are to be paid only for the hours actually
served. They may make-up hours lost during the same pay period of the early
dismissal. They may not, however, make up whole snow days.
PLEASE
NOTE:
Custodial/Maintenance staff will follow their regular shift hours. Please
be certain to share this information with the person that handles the payroll
in your building.
