Course Description:

This course covers the period from 1898 to

the present. Topics covered will begin with

the Spanish-American War, and include,

World War I, the Roaring Twenties, the Great

Depression, World War II, the Fifties, the

Sixties and continue to the present. This course

will provide the student with the general

knowledge, important themes and problems

of American History throughout the twentieth

century. Different teaching techniques will

be used, including cooperative learning, to

cover the material. Students will learn to relate

history to the present and current events will

also be discussed. Outside assignments will

be given.

Prerequisite: U.S. History I; workforce bound

from high school; business/technical
