Course Description:
This course will begin with the time period
from 1898 to the present and is designed for
the college bound student interested in a
four-year university or college. The course
will cover the rise of the United States in
political, social and economic terms in the
twentieth century beginning with the Spanish-
American War and continue with such topics
as the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression,
World War I and II and Post War America. This
course will prepare the student for the college
classroom and writing will be an integral
part of this course. Different types of writing,
such as the formal essay, will be assigned
and students taking this course should be
prepared to work outside of the classroom.
Prerequisite: CP History I; concurrent
enrollment in CP American Literature; four-year
university/college bound
