EAHS Honors Students for Academic Excellence

Guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Alan Childs, of the Psychology Department at Lafayette College. Dr. Childs congratulated the students for their achievements and cautioned them as to what lies ahead.

“Many more challenges await you in college and beyond,” said Dr. Childs. “You are starting a journey that will test you in ways you cannot anticipate. Through it all stay true to your family and your beliefs.”

Dr. Childs concluded his mix of humor and paternal advice by asking the students to “make the world a better place for someone.”

Easton Area High School held its inaugural Academic Excellence Awards ceremony Tuesday evening (June 2) at the middle school auditorium. More than 115 parents, students, teachers and administrators attended the event, which honored EAHS’s best students for their outstanding academic achievements during their four years at the high school.

“This inaugural class of 32 scholars has successfully completed the most challenging academic programs the school has to offer and have shown an extraordinary commitment to excellence,” said principal Bill Rider. “These students are carrying on the proud tradition of academic excellence at our school,” Rider said.

During the awards ceremony, each member of the inaugural class was given the Easton High School Bulldog award in recognition of their academic accomplishments. In turn, 22 of the students presented Certificates of Excellence to the teachers who provided them with motivation and guidance.

Superintendent Susan McGinley expressed how proud everyone in the district was of their accomplishments and wished students success and happiness in all their future endeavors. Board president Patricia Fisher offered congratulations to the seniors from all the members of the school board and the community.
