American Education Week at Cheston
Ada B. Cheston Elementary School celebrated American Education Week November 10th – 14th. Quite a few parents and family members came to the school to witness and participate in their child’s education. There is no better way to show children that you care about what they are learning than to be actively involved. Thank you to all who found the time to visit.
It’s That Time Again!
Listen to three Easton Area High School Seniors talk about what the Thanksgiving Tradition means to them. Patrick provides perspective from the football team, Rebecca talks about being in the band, and Ian represents the
Rover Nation.
Gallery Visits
Easton Area High School students enrolled in the Lafayette Experience, a course held in conjunction with Lafayette College and Philipsburg High School have had a busy two weeks. Students went to the Williams Center of the Performing Arts to attend the “Nature (Re) Made Genomic and Art” exhibit. There they met with scientist/artist Brandon Ballengee of U.S. Geological Survey’s North American Reporting Center for Amphibian Malformation for a gallery lecture. Brandon explained his photographic documentation of his long-term experimental project breeding Hymenochirus family frogs Some students then later attended a performance of the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange’s Ferocious Beauty: Genome that was presented in conjunction with this exhibit.
Another lecture and gallery visit was with artist Danny Moyer. Students viewed a slide show and listened to a historical review of his work, at their home base, the Williams Center for the Visual Arts. After that student went to Connexions Gallery and there saw his current work. Danny was present and there was a lively gallery discussion.
