FRIDAY  UPDATE

            EASTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT

2007 - 2008 School Year

Forks Field Day was a huge success! The students enjoyed relays, potato sack races, kickball, an obstacle course, and much more. We had a lot of support from parents who attended to cheer us on. Thank you to Mrs. Loomis-Koch and Miss Miller for hosting such a great day for us!

News from Team 7-4 – Basement Bulldogs:

In Mr. Hinks’ Social Studies classes, students are studying regional Latin America and preparing for the end of the year.  Miss Dinsmore’s Honors Pre-Algebra students are working on Probability.  They just finished tax, discounts, and interest and completed a project on that as well.  Academic Math 7 classes are working on percent of change.

In Miss Meashock’s reading classes, students are reading and responding to selections in their unit.  Academic classes are giving their "pitch" presentations this week while, Honors classes will be promoting their biography "clients" to the class next week.

Miss Parsons' students have completed their "Do Something" project. Each student had to select a cause and do something to benefit that cause.  Students volunteered at and donated to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, they raised money to donate to World Vision for aid in Africa, they collected clothing and school supplies to donate to the Children's Home of Easton, and contributed to many other worthy causes.  Congratulations to the students for all their hard work and effort. They truly made a difference!  Mrs. Hurst’s Life Science classes are learning about animals and are excited to dissect.  This week started with the first animal dissection, the earthworm.  The week ended with the squid dissection.  Next week we will be dissecting the crayfish and the grasshopper.
