FIRST ANNUAL MATH NIGHT
AT TRACY SCHOOL
The Easton community was so proud of all nine of the Odyssey of the Mind teams who successfully finished their problems and performed at the March 8th Odyssey of the Mind Southeast Pennsylvania Regional Competition at Pennridge High School. All students demonstrated their initiative, their creativity, their problem solving ability, and their team work and organization. Everyone who took part acquired life skills that will be useful throughout their lives. We are thankful for the coaches who spent countless hours helping their teams prepare, and also for all of the volunteer judges from the Easton area.
Seven 4th graders from Forks Elementary School won the First Place Trophy, and will represent the Easton Area School District and the Southeast Region at the State Tournament in Altoona on Saturday, April 12th. Their problem, Classics…The Wonderful Muses, required that they create and present an original performance that includes one of the Greek muses, who inspire a historical person who made a positive contribution to the world and a team-created contributor. These girls created an outstanding original song, dance, poem, costumes and scenery. They placed first in their spontaneous problem-solving challenge. Last week several of the girls were featured on a talk radio show.
