Here are a few highlights of what is happening in our classroom this month.  In science, students will be exploring the bacteria kingdom through the use of hands on labs. English classes will be learning about adverbs and adjectives, and using these descriptive words to enhance their writing.  4Sight testing will be administered next week in Reading and Math classes.

Also, we are pleased to announce that we have two new students of the month! Congratulations Mario and Felicia for being named as exemplary students. Keep up the great work!

Learning is Fun in Kindergarten!

The students in Mrs. Frederickson's kindergarten classes have been celebrating the season of winter. To practice number recall and number writing during math time, the children in the afternoon class are practicing writing their numbers in the "snow".

The children in Mrs. Frederickson's AM kindergarten class are engaging in a "dinosaur dig" as part of their Dinosaur theme this week. During center time, the students dig to find the letters of the alphabet and then match the capital letter with the lowercase letter. After finishing these tasks, they then put the letters in order from A to Z.

Here’s what’s new on Team 7-2:

In Science, we’ll be culturing bacteria for the next two weeks.  In Special Education, we will be creating graphs using the laptop computers after collecting data from our classmates.  In Reading, the classes will be taking the 4-Sight Reading tests on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.  In Math, we are working with ratios and proportions and will also be talking about scale drawing.  In Social Studies, the classes are starting a unit on the three branches of government. In English, the students are reviewing adjectives and continuing PSSA practice exercises.
