Purdue Bound!

On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, Kegan Handlovic signed his letter of intent to attend Purdue University in the fall.  The administration, faculty, staff and students of Easton Area Academy are extremely proud of Kegan for both his academic and athletic accomplishments.  We are excited to see Kegan pursue his education and further his wrestling career as a Purdue Boilermaker.

Shawnee Middle School

Wins Spring Challenge!

Thursday April 17, 2008 Shawnee Middle School won the Spring Challenge Reading competition held at Easton Area High School.  There were 12 middle schools competing. Shawnee accumulated enough points to win by reading 40+ books on the Reading Olympics list and answering questions about the books.   Each team member received an autographed hard cover copy of Eragon by Christopher Paolini.

Team members included Ayla Johnson, Miranda Rich, Breanne Giberson, Krystiana Kelly, Sara Solares, Shannon Clarke, Caroline Martin, Rachel Roizin-Prior, Kami Piperata, Katelynn Kelly, Olivia Raub, Brianna Jehl, Chris Hodges, and team captain Cristina Kenney.  Mrs. Melissa Sundahl, Shawnee librarian, coached the team.

This week Paxinosa Student Council members started to see what one of the Martin Luther King Jr murals would look like when it is finished.  Student Council has been working on this project since January under the supervision of Miss Hudak, student council advisor and Miss Conn of the volunteer center.  The entire school drew "their dream" on a tile that will be mounted on a board and will be hung for all to see at their new school.  The first mural to be constructed was created by the 4th grade class of 2008.  Since 4th grade will not be making the move with us next year student council will be presenting this completed mural to the entire school at Community Day.  The rest of the murals will be put together next year!!
