Family Connection coordinates the Cheston Cougars Learning Club (CCLC) at Cheston Elementary School. CCLC builds knowledge and unleashes the imagination through afterschool academic enrichment activities.

CCLC is open to Cheston students who are referred by their teachers. Through hands-on educational activities and individualized attention, CCLC helps students meet state standards for core academic subjects.

Many community partners contribute their time to provide unique and specialized activities for students and families. These partners have included the Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg, and Vicinity, Lafayette College, Northampton Community College, the National Canal Museum, the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, Boys and Girls Club of Easton, Kiwanis Club of Easton, and Northampton County Cooperative Extension.

Program activities include classroom instruction, academic enrichment activities, physical education, journal writing, homework, snack, and family nights. Students build literacy and math skills while having fun with music, technology, character education, and art.
