1. Summer Arts Camp
   

2. Each summer, Family Connection holds a summer arts camp.  In 2009, nineteen students in 3rd and 4th grade participated.  The camp was held at Paxinosa Elementary School and was sponsored by Crayola, LLC.

4. At summer arts camp, children learned about the culture, history, and style of hieroglyphics, graffiti art, Native American bark painting, and the Ndebele tribe of Africa.  Students created one project for each of these topics; many of them incorporated elements of their own cultural heritage into their work.

6. The program ended with an exhibit at the Easton Area Public Library on July 22nd.  Students had the opportunity to discuss their artwork and show their families the pieces they created.

8. Art Contest and Art Show
   

9. Family Connection’s 10th Anniversary Student Art Contest and Show was held at the State Theatre Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday April 19th, 2008. Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade illustrated something that makes them happy, 3rd and 4th grade drew something they like about their community, and 5th and 6th grade drew their hopes and dreams for the future.  At the art show, children enjoyed craft activities before the awards ceremony.

53. Family Connection supports the annual Arts Day at Cheston Elementary School.  Preparation for Arts Day is integrated into CCLC instruction and our students participate in the Arts Day play.
