6th grade memoirs

With the help of Mrs. Bean, a 6th grade Language Class spent time before the holidays learning about memoirs as demonstrated in the movie The Christmas Story. Students then wrote their own memoir of a childhood experience. Using GarageBand, the stories were recorded and students added effects and music to mimic old time radio shows.

Save the Animals

One of our 5th grade reading classes read about Jane Goodall and her efforts to help save wildlife.  The students learned a great deal and enjoyed the reading and the projects.  As a result, the children formed cooperative learning groups and chose an endangered or threatened species to research.  After completing their research, they filmed and created an iMovie to share what they learned.
