Over the past 5 years, the Easton Area School District has been experiencing a technology explosion. Through the leadership of Director of Technology Thomas Drago, as well as the support of the EASD Administration and Board of Education, our commitment to raising the technological bar for Easton’s students has paid off.  Through a clear vision, careful planning, thorough training, and constant communication, our schools are preparing Easton youth for the future that awaits them.

Visit the EASD Technology Website to learn more about our school district’s technology initiatives and successes.

Shawnee Middle School is full of technology! There is no doubt about the fact that the faculty here, and the students, are enjoying the new technology that fills their new school. Every classroom has a 42 inch flat screen TV that allows for laptop connection and projection, Smart Boards, speakers and projectors enhance the Business Ed. department. Digital cameras, video cameras, etc. are also available and valuable for classroom instruction. Shawnee has 6 complete laptop carts that enhance daily instruction with respect to the National Educational Technology Standards. The students at this school, as well as within our district, will be ready for their future having strong technological backgrounds gained by journeying through the Easton Area School District.

To check out any technology materials, please email me the dates you are interested in, list what you would like to have and note whether you need my assistance or not.  I have placed cart schedules on a bulletin board outside of my office for your convenience.  I will update them on a weekly basis.  If you would like to meet with me to discuss how to integrate technology into your classroom, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I would love to work with you and your students!

Helpful Information:

  1. * Please return all carts to the nearest copy room on the day they are due.   Be sure to plug them in so they will be properly charged for the next teacher.

  2. *Please fill out the sheet that is attached to each cart and initial it daily.  It asks you to note how many computers you had at the start of the day, as well as at the end of the day. It also requires you to record any computer problems you had that day.  I will check these sheets as the carts are returned and fix whatever may be malfunctioning.  If you do not let me know of the computers that you had problems with, I will not be able to help you.

  3. *If you come to my office to return cameras, video cameras, etc., and I am not here, please leave the item in the 7th grade copy room.  Be sure to email me that you have left it there so I can get it and lock it up properly as soon as possible.  That room will be locked at all times.
