Question:
When will I be able to access PowerSchool information for my child who attends elementary school?
Answer:

Teachers, principals, and secretaries have been using PowerSchool in our elementary schools mainly for attendance purposes. There have been some questions lately about why teachers are not using PowerSchool for grading at the elementary schools. The EASD is currently using PowerSchool for grading purposes at the middle schools and high school. At the elementary level, a year prior to the purchasing of PowerSchool, we had already begun to use a computerized program (written in-house) for the elementary reports cards. To roll out a program as complicated as PowerSchool to every grade level would have been very difficult. We will, most likely, make the switch to PowerSchool at the elementary schools, for grading, in the 07 - 08 school year. This will, most likely, correspond to the switch to a "standards based" report card. At that time, the teachers will be trained and given time to become comfortable with an electronic grade-book. Elementary parents will be notified when access is available and plans for parent training will be made at that time.
