Welcome! We're pleased that you're spending time with this potentially powerful set of educational tools. This brief introduction will help you understand how to interact with the resources we have developed.

As you work with this CD-ROM, you will be using "browser" software.  You're using browser software right now to look at this page of information. Although this site is designed to work with all capable browsers, it looks best when viewed with the most current versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape. (If you are using America Online, CompuServe, Mosaic or another browser, you may experience difficulty viewing this CD or its components).

In the rest of this document, we explain how the pages on the CD-ROM are designed.

Page Design

Most of the pages on this CD-ROM are designed like this one, with navigation links on the left, top and bottom.

Clicking the home button, or the "Mathematics Practice Test" icon will take you back to the Main Menu page for the site.

Most links are shown as blue, underlined text, like this.

Printing Files

Every resource on this CD is a .pdf file, specifically formatted for the printer. To print the resources stored in this manner, you must first have installed "Adobe Acrobat Reader," which is included on this CD-ROM and can be installed by using our software download section, which is accessed from the top and bottom menus.

A small Adobe Acrobat window will open whenever you click on a resource link.  To print, click on the printer icon near the upper left hand corner of this new window. (First make sure your printer is attached to your computer, turned on, and on-line with paper loaded.)

When you have completed viewing or printing each .pdf file, individual windows can be closed at the small window at the x in the upper right hand corner (Windows) or box in the upper left hand corner (Mac).

As you use this document, we hope that you will be able to move easily from item to item and locate the information that is of interest and useful to you.
